Alicia Vale thought leaving Windstone Valley would finally mean leaving her past behind. After years of living with her abusive father and wondering what really happened to her missing mother, Alicia gets a scholarship to Heritage College—the one place her father desperately refuses to let her go. So she leaves anyway. But Heritage isn't just a new beginning. It's connected to the city where her mother disappeared, the wealthy Cross family her mother once worked for, and a boy who seems strangely familiar. Cole Cross remembers Alicia. Years ago, they met briefly—long enough for her face to become a memory he never forgot. But Alicia doesn't remember him at all. As secrets begin to surface and their lives become tangled together, Alicia starts to wonder if finding the truth about her mother means uncovering a past she was never meant to remember.
