ABSTRACT
This is the story of mira a teenager girl who didn't believe in curses until now....
When Mira opens her grandmother’s empty house in Onitsha, she finds more than dust. Behind a loose brick is a small black journal with no title. The pages are blank at first, but every night new words appear in wet ink.
The entries are from Elias, a man who claims he was turned into a vampire in 1812 and buried in the courtyard. He says the journal was written by twelve people cursed by Adanna, a woman who wanted immortality without God in 1798. The book holds their names and the only way to end the curse.
Reading it wakes something. Adanna is searching for the diary because with it she can control the remaining vampires and walk in the sun. Without it, she’s just one monster with an army.
When Adanna’s followers attack, Elias pulls Mira out of the city. Now they’re running through Anambra at night, trying to reach an old chapel where another of the twelve, Ireti, might still be alive.
As the diary keeps writing itself, Mira has to decide: keep it safe, destroy it, or use it. Because whoever reads it, gets found. And saying no to eternity might cost her everything.
