Detective Sharon Vance is a hardened New York homicide investigator who prides herself on logic, order, and facts. Her structured world shatters during a midnight investigation at Central Park’s reservoir. Called to a bizarre crime scene, Sharon looks down to find a dead woman who is her exact physical duplicate—sharing her rare blood type, genetic markers, and a distinct childhood scar. Before forensics can process the impossible corpse, Sharon experiences a violent sensory "glitch" where the environment briefly warps into a fractured, alien landscape. When reality snaps back, her colleagues are entirely oblivious to the anomaly. Even worse, the corpse has physically morphed into a blonde stranger in a red dress. To the rest of the department, Sharon is suffering a severe psychological breakdown.
