ABSTRACT
The officiant had just finished his blessing. Grant Sutton and I were about to exchange rings when our bridesmaid, Paige Sutton, doubled over, clutching her chest.   "Grant, my heart hurts so much."   He left me standing there and hurried to catch her as the guests stared in disbelief. "I'll take you to the hospital right now."   She leaned weakly against him and shook her head. "Don't. It's your big day with Nadia. I can bear it."   Yet her grip on his sleeve only tightened.   Grant frowned. "Paige, your health comes first. I'm taking you to the hospital."   He put the ring away, wrapped an arm around her, and started to lead her off the stage.   I looked at him. "We're at the very last step. You can't even give me another 15 minutes or so?"   He stopped without turning around. "You've waited seven times already. What's one more?"   His indifference made me laugh in disbelief. "Grant, if you don't marry me today, I won't wait for you again."   He settled Paige in a nearby chair and rubbed the spot on her chest that hurt. "Stop acting like a spoiled princess. I don't have time for your tantrums."   I watched him fuss over her. After a long silence, I unclenched my fists, took out my phone, and pulled up a number I hadn't contacted in a long time.   Nadia: Bellwick Grand Hotel. Come get me in 30 minutes.
