The first thing Damian Cole noticed about the dead man was the watch. It was identical to his. Same design. Same rare model. Even the same tiny scratch across the face. The second thing he noticed was the man's phone. His own number was saved inside it. And when the phone suddenly rang, the caller ID displayed one name: DAMIAN COLE. Damian has no idea who the dead man is. At least, that's what he believes. But the police soon identify the victim as Ethan Cross a former financial investigator who officially died three years ago. Then they show Damian an old photograph. Six years ago, Damian was standing beside Ethan. Damian remembers nothing. Six years earlier, a mysterious attack left him with a serious head injury and a gap in his memory. He has spent years believing that the missing hours were nothing more than the unfortunate result of an accident. Now he isn't so sure. Someone has been hiding the truth from him. And someone is terrified that he will remember. His search leads him to a secret room hidden inside his own house, photographs he doesn't remember taking, financial records connected to his dead father, and a mysterious woman named Elena Hart. Elena claims she knew Ethan. She also claims Ethan came looking for Damian before he died. But why? What did Ethan know? What happened six years ago? And why does everyone who gets close to the truth seem to end up dead? As Damian and Elena begin investigating together, suspicion slowly turns into trust, and trust into something far more dangerous. But Elena is hiding secrets of her own, and Damian soon discovers that even the woman he is beginning to love may not be telling him everything. The deeper Damian digs, the more he realizes that Ethan's murder was never meant to be solved. It was meant to be blamed on him. Someone has gone to extraordinary lengths to bury the past. Someone who knows what Damian forgot. Someone who knows what happened to Ethan. And someone who will kill again to make sure Damian never remembers. Because the most dangerous secret in Damian Cole's life isn't the dead man in his house. It's what Damian himself did six years ago.
