ABSTRACT
The City of Hidden Wolves follows Elias Vale, an investigative journalist whose ordinary life is shattered when a young woman named Sophie Mercer mysteriously disappears. What initially appears to be another missing-person case quickly becomes something far more sinister when Elias discovers that Sophie’s official records have been deliberately altered and that she had been investigating a forgotten subway line that does not officially exist.
Following a photograph Sophie left behind, Elias discovers evidence of a hidden world beneath Blackhaven—a secret society of werewolves that has existed beneath the modern city for centuries. Humans walk past their territories every day without realizing what lies beneath their feet.
But Elias's investigation becomes deeply personal when his younger sister Lena becomes entangled in the supernatural conspiracy. Elias soon discovers that his own connection to the werewolves is far more significant than he ever imagined. His blood carries a rare and dangerous supernatural inheritance, making him bloodmarked—a person whose transformation possesses unusual power and whose existence threatens the balance between the hidden clans.
Elias is drawn into the underground society by Mara Vey, a powerful werewolf who appears to be helping him uncover the truth. Yet Mara has secrets of her own. Elias eventually realizes that she knew more about his identity and his connection to the supernatural world than she initially admitted.
As Elias searches for Lena and Sophie, he encounters competing werewolf clans, ancient rivalries, secret councils, forbidden archives, and a mysterious organization known as the Hollow Moon, which has been hunting supernatural beings from the shadows.
The investigation takes an even darker turn when Elias discovers that the conflict is not simply between humans and werewolves.
Ancient records reveal the existence of terrifying creatures known as Hollows—predatory beings that feed on supernatural blood. They were believed to have disappeared centuries ago, but someone has deliberately awakened them beneath Blackhaven.
The truth leads Elias and Mara into a buried ancient temple where they uncover evidence of a three-thousand-year-old betrayal. Long before modern Blackhaven existed, humans and werewolves apparently lived under an ancient pact. That peace was destroyed by a human figure who believed werewolves were too dangerous to coexist with humanity.
That betrayal eventually created the Hollow Moon, an organization whose descendants have continued the ancient war for thousands of years.
Elias and Mara discover that the mysterious Founder behind the Hollow Moon is not merely a modern leader. He is connected directly to the bloodline of the original betrayer—and has spent centuries continuing the same agenda.
Meanwhile, Elias's transformation makes him a target of the werewolf council. After his uncontrolled bloodmarked transformation results in a death, the council declares him a threat. A bounty is placed on his life, forcing Elias and Mara to flee through the hidden districts while werewolves hunt them.
But the Founder has a much larger plan.
The awakening of the Hollows is only part of it. The supernatural chaos spreading through Blackhaven is designed to destabilize both humans and werewolves while allowing the Founder to accomplish something far more dangerous beneath the city.
Lena is eventually captured and taken into the Founder's underground stronghold. Elias and Mara attempt to rescue her, only to discover that Lena's connection to the supernatural world may be even more important than Elias's. Something ancient appears to be awakening through her blood.
When Elias finally reaches Lena, the Founder reveals that the events unfolding across Blackhaven have been carefully orchestrated. The Hollows are released, supernatural activity erupts throughout the hidden city, and werewolves begin transforming and fighting amid widespread destruction.
The situation eventually becomes impossible to conceal.
Human authorities detect the supernatural activity and launch a containment operation. Blackhaven is placed under emergency lockdown, trapping humans, werewolves, and the newly awakened creatures inside the city.
Then the unthinkable happens.
The secret world of the werewolves is exposed to humanity.
Footage of wolves standing openly amid the burning city spreads across the internet, reaching millions of people within hours. Governments, military authorities, journalists, and ordinary civilians are forced to confront the existence of supernatural beings that have supposedly remained hidden for centuries.
Elias watches as the life he knew disappears permanently.
The conflict is no longer simply a secret war beneath Blackhaven. Humanity now knows that werewolves exist.
And beneath the ruined city, something even older remains awake.
